Mayme Carmichael School Organization Inc. will have its fifth annual banquet and fundraiser at 6 p.m. Aug. 18 in Oak Ridge at the DoubleTree Hotel at 215 S. Illinois Ave.
Ashley Howell, Director of the Tennessee State Museum, will be the guest speaker, and State Representatitve Dale Carr will serve as the auctioneer that evening. Music will be provided by Clay Jordan (formerly of The Four Seasons). Tickets are $50 per person or $500 per table.
All proceeds go toward the preservation of the heritage of the African-American community, education and development of Carmichael Park in Oliver Springs.
