Neighboring communities have shown that a new school building program can have a significant impact on population trends. Counties that built new high schools in the last 10 years, including Hardin Valley (Knox County), Oak Ridge, Alcoa, Rhea Central, Stone Memorial (Cumberland County), all experienced population growth.
Changing how education is provided is critical to being able to prepare our students for the jobs of tomorrow. The traditional model of education is inadequate in a world of exponential change.
