2020 Watts bar paddle event on June 20th

End Point/ Leg 2- Rockwood Ferry TWRA Access Ramp at Grand Vista Bay (10.1 Nautical Miles)
Join us for the paddle of a lifetime on Watts Bar! Paddle among friends at our 2020 Watts Bar Paddle Event on June 20, 2020. This permitted event allows kayaking, paddle boarding and canoeing enthusiasts to connect as a community in a safe and responsible way. Paddling on Watts Bar is the perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors while continuing to physical distance yourself from one another. We will practice safe distancing at our launch site and throughout the paddle. Please be sure to register for this event as information on difficulty levels, a safety orientation video and a liability waiver will be emailed before the event. Difficulty Scale -
Intermediate Level: Start at 58 Landing and end at Roane County Park for a total of 6.2 Nautical Miles. Expected paddle time is approximately 3-4 hours.
Expert Level: Start at 58 Landing and end at Rockwood Ferry TWRA Access Ramp at Grand Vista Bay for a total of 10.1 Nautical Miles. Expected paddle time is approximately 5-6 hours.

**Due to the Covid Pandemic we are not having a formal launch or takeout. You must bring your own kayak, canoe, paddle board, life preserver and provide your own transportation. Call 865-376-2093 if you have any questions or concerns.**
To ensure the safety of all attendees, this event will require the following:
- each participant will be required to register for the event in order for event organizers to send important information regarding the event;
- each participant must provide your own watercraft, life preserver and transportation back to your vehicle for this event;
- each participant will be required to complete a brief virtual Safety Orientaion before launching their personal craft;
- each participant will be required to sign a liability waiver before launching their personal craft;
- all minors must be accompanied by an adult;
- to limit group size, there will be no formal launch or takeout;
- facial coverings (masks/buffs/gaiters) should be worn at start and end points;
- each participant must maintain 6 feet of separation from other persons during the launch, on the water and during takeout;
- each participant will be required to adopt Leave No Trace principles;
- in the event of forecasted weather creating unsafe conditions, this event will be rescheduled to June 27, 2020.
